Board of Directors Adopts New Mission Statement |
|
Thursday, 17 December 2009 17:56 |

During their regular Board Meeting this Friday morning, the Batavia Access Television Board of Directors adopted a new mission statement for the stations. Over the past few years, the focus of staff and the Board has been to re-introduce themselves to the community. With the launch of a new Web site, staff reorganization and a new logo, Batavia Access Television has had a very busy few years. With all of these changes, BATV thought it was appropriate to revisit the mission statment for the Organization.
At their November, 2009 Board Retreat, the BATV Board and Staff engaged in a brainstorming session focusing on the purpose of the staions and what should be their defined mission statement moving forward. Subsequent to the retreat, a writing group consisting of Board members and Staff convened to sort through the material generated from the retreat and came up with a new mission statement draft that was reviewed by the balance of the Board and Staff. The writing group reached a consensus on the new statment and it was approved by the Board at their December Board meeting.
"The mission of Batavia Access Television is to educate, entertain, celebrate, engage, and inspire the community through programming that enhances the quality of life for all." |
