Eeek! What is wrong with us, fellow City of Batavia residents? What is it about us that people are afraid of? Isn’t it about time for us Batavia “homies to represent”?
I have nothing against “choosing the best qualified” for a City of Batavia government job. By the way,congratulations to Batavia’s new Fire Chief, Josh Graham, sir, currently serving in the Arcade,N.Y. Fire Department, and a resident of Corfu, N.Y. Best wishes!
However,why wasn’t a City of Batavia resident chosen for the job?
Wowie,there has just got to be someone out there living in the city, and currently ably serving in our Fire Department! Isn’t there? Or are we just following in the same well-worn tracks (ruts?) of the recent hires of non-city residents for the previous fire chief, the assistant city manager, the police chief, and any other positions in city government filled by Batavia non-residents that I’m not even aware of.
