First Chicagoland Chicken Salad Chick Grand Opening Set For December

BATAVIA, IL — In just two weeks, Chicken Salad Chick will make its official Chicagoland area debut in Batavia, bringing its tally of Illinois locations to four.

A restaurant known for its chicken-salad-focused menu — and touted as the only fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept in the country — Chicken Salad Chick will open to customers at 200 N. Randall Road, a space formerly occupied by Crabby Boil. The building features a drive-thru and private event space.

To celebrate the grand opening, the first 100 guests will receive free chicken salad for a year. Enthusiasts looking to win should start arriving at the restaurant at 7 a.m., officials said. Other giveaways will also be ongoing throughout the week.

The Batavia location is operated by Fox Valley Chick’s Kim and Garrett Seaman, a husband-and-wife duo that lives in St. Charles.

“Garrett and I love being part of this tight-knit Batavia community, and when we learned about the Chicken Salad Chick culture and family-friendly atmosphere, we knew it would be a great fit,” said Kim, who has taught second grade at Louise White Elementary School in Batavia for about 20 years.

According to Kim, the couple has plans to bring two more Chicken Salad Chick restaurants to the Fox Valley area.

“Spreading joy, enriching lives and serving others are the core values of this brand,” Kim said in a statement. “That mission to enrich lives really speaks to me as an educator who looks forward to helping our employees reach their goals. We already have plans to open two additional Chicks in the Fox Valley area, so we want to create an environment where our employees want to stay and grow with us. I would love it if some of my former students came to work with us too.”

Chicken Salad Chick in Batavia will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
