George E. Bell | Obituaries


BATAVIA — George E. Bell, 71, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at Buffalo General Hospital.

George was born Saturday, March 31, 1951, in Batavia, a son of the late Earl Bell and Ruth Moore Bell.

George was self-employed as a contractor for nearly 40 years. He has subcontracted to Will’s Carpet One, Imperial Kitchens, Frontier Kitchens, Kitchen World, and Wortzman’s Furniture where he spent the majority of his career. Most recently, George was employed as the Maintenance Director at Leroy Manor, in Le Roy, N.Y. A hard-working, quiet man, with a wry sense of humor he loved being home with his family after a hard day at work. George was the consummate family man. He loved working on and at his home, watching home improvement shows, and Fox News. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Sally M. (Little) Bell, whom he married on August 21, 1970; his children, Kevin C. Bell, of Upper Jay, NY and Heather R. Bell of Oakfield; his granddaughter, Clara Jean Murphy; his brother, Robert (Deborah) Bell of Elba.

He is predeceased by his son Timothy E. Bell, who passed away on Jan. 17, 1992. His parents, Earl and Ruth (Moore) Bell also predeceased George.

There are no prior visiting hours. George’s Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3515 Galloway Road, Batavia.
