H.S. WRESTLING: Batavia/Attica knocks off state-ranked HF-L; LCAA results | Sports

ATTICA — The Batavia/Attica grapplers are on a roll. Days following their victory over state-ranked Spencerport, the Blue Devils wrestlers knocked off another state-ranked squad, HF-L, 39-30, on Tuesday night.

In a matchup between two No. 1 state-ranked wrestlers, Casper Stewart got the better of HF-L’s Nick Noto, winning by a 7-2 decision to help vault Batavia/Attica to victory. Other significant contributors for Batavia/Attica in the win were Tymothey Murrell, who recorded a 3-0 decision over Owen Englert at 189 pounds, and Nate Heusinger, who stomed back from a 9-2 deficit to earn a 10-9 victory at 152 pounds over the Cougars’ Cooper Levine. Diominic Saeva won by forfeit at 215 pounds which picked up a critical six points for the Blue Devils en route to the win.
